Explanation

Peace in the House Ministry (PHM) is a Christ-centered, intensive prayer ministry designed to expose and remove both our iniquity and the iniquity of our ancestors from our lives. Iniquity is defined as a lifestyle, good or bad, that is outside the will of God. PHM is a sanctification tool to help Christians consistently walk with Jesus in freedom.

PHM is based on the following:

1.  Confess

a.  Jesus as Christ  (Romans 1:16-17, Romans 10:9-10)

b.  Sins

i.  To God  (1 John 1:7-9, Psalms 32:5)

ii. To others  (James 5:16)

2.  The iniquity of the fathers. (Exodus 20:4-6) We are not guilty for our father’s iniquity, just influenced by it.  Iniquity is a lifestyle of the fathers passed down by:

a.  Learned behavior.

b.  Demonic activity and/or influence. (Mark 9:14-29)  The Greek word for child in this passage is “paidiothen” (pa-hee-dee-othen) which means infancy.

3.  The double-minded man.  (James 1:5-8; 4:1-10)  The Greek word for double-minded is “dipsuchos”, meaning double-souled or split-souled.  A soul split into two parts.  The Latin meaning for double-minded is “duplex”.

4.  Dissociation.  Three possible ways that we cope through dissociation when trauma  occurs:

a. We create a wounded part of our soul to store our emotions and memories of a traumatic event .

b. We create a wounded part of our soul to store all of our emotions, but keep the memories of a particular trauma.

c. We create a wounded part of our soul to store all of the memories, but keep the emotions of a particular trauma.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.  (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (NASB))

At our conception, those of us who are descendants of family lines where iniquity was present may have been born under the influence of that iniquity passing down from one or both parents, giving ground to the demonic. On one side of the soul is the demonic influence of the ancestors and those wounded parts under its influence.  On the other side is your core, that soft, pliable, reachable & teachable part of you, which God thought up from the foundation of the world. Picture a house, a duplex, with a wall separating the light side of the house, where your core resides, from the dark side, where the iniquities of the fathers reside.

When we experience a significant trauma, we may dissociate from the trauma, make our own way of escape, and a wounded part of the soul may be created.  Until our core personality accepts Jesus Christ as Savior, the wounded parts of our soul reside on the dark side of the house where they are tormented and used by the demonic realm for its purposes.  As we continue our lives, when we experience trauma, we may create additional wounded parts or force previously created wounded parts to take all of the wounding.  As adults, when we are triggered by life events (emotions, sight, sound, smell or experience) our core may hide and force a wounded part of our soul to cope with the uncomfortable situation.  These wounded parts do not recognize the Lordship of Jesus Christ and they can be developmentally stuck at the age of the trauma.

When the core personality invites Jesus Christ to be their Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell on the light side of the duplex and it becomes the safe side. As Christians, when we are wounded or sin, we are to forgive and repent, putting our sin and unforgiveness on the cross.  If we choose not to, a wounded part of the soul may be formed on the safe side of the duplex.  This gives the demonic access to the safe side of the house to torment and use the wounded parts for its purposes.  This results in very little rest or peace for the core.

Satan is the common enemy of God and His children and has been attacking mankind since the Garden of Eden.  Christians are not exempt from his attacks (1 Peter 5:8).  Satan and his demons oppose our freedom in Christ to walk in God’s will for our lives.  The demonic does not have to give up any strongholds or areas of oppression that they justly claim in your life until the ground (duplex, wounded parts, beliefs, sin and unforgiveness) that they stand on has been taken back.

The goal of PHM is to restore and bring peace to the spirit and soul by:

  1. Reclaiming all of the ground given to the demonic realm by the iniquities of the individual and/or their ancestors.
  2. Every wounded part acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Lord.  While every believer is wholly saved, there may be parts of their lives that have not been submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
  3. Allowing Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit, to restore and integrate the wounded parts of the soul to the core personality and to remove all of the demonic influence.

Once the individual is integrated, free and fully able to follow Jesus; counseling and/or discipleship is strongly recommended for learned behaviors.

PHM requires everyone considering ministry to read “Liberating the Bruised” or the Foreword through the first 4 Chapters of “More Tools For Liberating the Bruised” by Dr. Joe Allbright and to fill out a Confidential Personal Inventory (CPI) form.  We will review the CPI form, pray and determine whether they might benefit from this type of ministry.  This ministry process will be as complete as the person is willing to experience their pain and be honest and open before God.
